Licensing and Open source

Research licenses

To accelerate research in agricultural innovation, Syngenta is now providing access to licenses for academic research purposes

Agriculture and the planet are facing challenges that are too complex for any one company to solve, creating new opportunities to work across science disciplines and form collaborations between academia, start-ups and multi-nationals to work together to discover solutions to science-based innovation challenges.

We believe sharing certain Syngenta intellectual property for academic research purposes will speed up the delivery of solutions to farmers dealing with growing threats from pests, disease and extreme weather conditions.

Licensing our technologies is simple. We've clustered these technologies into two areas. With a single licensing request, technologies within each cluster can be accessed.

Breeding and seed production technologies

Breeding technologies play a critical role in enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability. In staying true to our values of openness, transparency, and collaboration, we are excited to announce that we are providing access to specific Syngenta proprietary licenses for research purposes. We see this as an accelerator to innovation in agriculture.
